A fire on a motorway embankment could have been started by a cigarette carelessly thrown from a car window.
Firefighters from Windsor, Slough and Langley using three pumps fought the blaze which started at about 7pm on the M4 embankment under Junction 5 yesterday evening. They were there about 40 minutes.
Firefighters have been warning the public not to throw cigarette stubbs down or take any risks that could lead to a fire in the current hot, dry weather.
