An amateur drama group has proved that its members can perform just as well as fund raisers - after contributing £1,000 to help a struggling riding group for the disabled.
The Old Windsor based Peters Players Amateur Dramatics Group donated the money to South Bucks Riding for the Disabled.
Player Linda Kirby said: "Even for those who do not achieve Paralympic status, the organisation is a wonderful opportunity to provide mobility and confidence for members with a whole range of disabilities.
"Sadly it is currently in desperate need of funds and a member of the Peters Players Simon Pearce has personally raised £500 for them by completing the Windsor half marathon."
Peters Players made up Simon's offering from the group's coffers to make £1,000.
Pictured with the cheque is Helen Burt, centre manager at RDA's site in Fulmer with instructor Sharon Brockley and member Sarah Cawthorne sitting on Lambrusco - the horse on which Sophie Christensen won an individual gold medal at Beijing Paralympics in 2008. She presented the horse to RDA.
Sarah's mum Jacqui Cawthorne is a member of the St Peters Players.
Simon actually raised £1000 on his run - the money is being divided equally between South Bucks RDA and 1st Datchet Sea Scouts where he is a leader.
He will be taking the title role in The Peters Players' forthcoming production of Lord Arthur Savile’s crime which is being performed on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22 at the Memorial Hall, Old Windsor.
