A WOMAN in her eighties is in a serious condition in hospital following a suspected hit and run involving a driver who may have been under the influence of drink or drugs.
The pensioner, who was on foot, sustained life threatening injuries after being hit by a White Mercedes Sprinter van around 12.05pm last Friday, November 25.
She was taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough after the incident on the A4 London Road in Langley, and remains in a serious condition.
Investigating officer, PC Joy Jarvis of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident to call police on 101.
“In particular, anyone who may have captured the van on mobile phone or dashcam.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Jarvis via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting reference URN 577 (25/11).
A 42-year-old man from Surrey has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. He has been bailed until January 19, next year.
