A NEW managing director of Communities, Health and Adult Social Care in Buckinghamshire and South Bucks has been selected.
Buckinghamshire County Council has chosen Sheila Norris for the position.
She will be responsible for a range of services, including adult social care, learning disabilities, adult mental health, and drug and alcohol schemes, with a budget of around £135 million.
Mrs Norris is currently director for Commissioning with Essex County Council and will assume her role as managing director in March following Trevor Boyd’s retirement in December.
Buckinghamshire County Council Leader Martin Tett said: “Our ageing population brings with it massive pressures on key services.
“Sheila’s vast experience will be invaluable in working with our health partners to integrate services, so that we support and safeguard our vulnerable residents.”
Mrs Norris said: “I am excited to be joining the County Council. I have been impressed by the outcomes it is already delivering, and look forward to building on those achievements.”
