A LONG-SERVING member of Slough Town FC’s coaching staff has been rewarded for decades of commitment.
Club physiotherapist Kevin McGoldrick has won Get Berkshire Active’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his 32 years of service to Slough Town FC.
The club as a whole has also been shortlisted for the Community Club of the Year Award alongside Royal Windsor Rollergirls and the Thames Valley Kings Wheelchair Basketball Club, with the winner to be decided by a public vote.
Chairman Steven Easterbrook has been shortlisted for the Volunteer of the Year award, reflecting his work in taking Slough Town back to Arbour Park after a 13 year absence.
The Get Berkshire Active Awards recognise the contribution local people make to inspiring others to take up physical activity, as well as celebrating individual and team excellence in sport.
The awards are in their fifth year and the club and chairman will find out if they have won their respective categories at a ceremony on February 10 at the Hilton Hotel, Reading, where physio Kevin McGoldrick will also pick up his lifetime achievement prize.
