SLOUGH Town recorded a fourth consecutive league win for the first time since October with a 1-0 victory against Merthyr Town on Saturday.

A goal from Chris Flood on the hour separated the two promotion rivals at Arbour Park, leaving a single point between the four teams in the play-off spots.

The goal arrived as Flood controlled a low Warren Harris cross before his shot was deflected into the bottom corner.

Merthyr saw appeals for a penalty turned down in the first half when Nathan Smart appeared to bundle Kayne McLaggon to the ground.

Slough could move up to second in the table with a win a bottom side Cinderford Town on Tuesday (7.45pm), and if the clash between Merthyr and Hitchin ends in a draw.

The Rebels are away to Dorchester Town this Saturday (3pm).

Maidenhead United have regained the winning thread in National League South with a 2-1 victory over Whitehawk.

United got a goal their momentum deserved in trademark style and by top scorer, Dave Tarpey.

Danny Mills tapped the ball home after keeper Carl Pentney saved a low strike.

Maidenhead regained the lead in the 88th minute as James Comley floated in a free-kick and Ryan Upward headed the ball past Tom Stewart.

United are now unbeaten at York Road in 14 matches and will look to extend that record when Eastbourne Borough visit on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Second in the table Maidenhead then make the journey across Berkshire to Hungerford Town this Saturday (3pm).

Windsor saw their four-match unbeaten streak come to an end after a 2-1 defeat to Chertsey Town on Saturday.

Joe Jones scored twice to give Chertsey a clear lead at the half-time interval at Stag Meadow.

Haydon Clack pulled a goal back for Windsor after the break.

The defeat leaves Windsor 11th in the Combined Counties Premier Division table ahead of a visit from CB Hounslow United this Saturday (3pm).
