INCOMING captains Richard Frewin and Brian Walsh this week began their duties for the season at Iver Golf Club.

In the Garry Noble Challenge (Drive In), Frewin continued his remarkable run of form by winning the tournament with 38 stableford points.

Frewin was three ahead of second-placed Satinder Sandhu with James Passey in third on 33 points. The two-ball prize went to Bob Jenkins.

New seniors captain Walsh hosted a midweek stableford competition that was won by John Campbell with 30 points.

Outgoing captain Chris Hosler raised £3,400 in his year of office. This was a tremendous effort and the money will be divided equally between McMillan Nurses and Ian Rennie home care.

Campbell brought the official season to a close by winning the Seniors February Medal.

Played in gale force conditions the scores were inevitably high and Campbell finished with nett 82, four shots ahead of John West. The win clinched the medal league table for Campbell who finished 11 points ahead of Dennis Green.

In what turned out to be a momentous year for Campbell, he also scooped the Senior Player of the Year title, finishing ahead of runner-up Jenkins.

Hosler signed off as this years club captain by hosting a stableford competition in which he promised everyone a point who out-scored him.

He did quite well as only two players were successful. Frewin (35 points) won the event on countback from Harjinder Dhardwar, with Hosler a point back in third.
