AN ELDERLY woman was seriously injured when a car collided with her in Iver.

The victim - in her nineties - was hit by a blue Ford Fiesta as she was walking.

Police were called to the scene in Langley Park Road, near the Red Lion pub and Hollybush Lane in Iver at about 10.40am this morning.

The woman sustained severe injuries and was flown by air ambulance to St George's Hospital in London where she remains.

The road was temporarily closed while the emergency services attended the scene and tried to piece together what had happened.

Investigating officer PC Stuart Holt, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or who saw the vehicle travelling prior to the collision. Anyone with any information which could assist our investigation should contact police as soon as possible.”

A 47-year-old woman from Wexham has already been arrested today on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving and is currently in police custody.
