STEVE VENNING (12 handicap) has won the Pro-Salver at Wexham Park Golf Club, beating the course four up.

Andrew Wilson (19 hcp) was second on countback from Martin Brookling (12 hcp).

THE BERKS, Bucks & Oxon PGA visited Datchet Golf Club once again for their annual assistants’ event last.

The course was in fabulous condition and, on a perfect day for scoring, Lambourne professional Dave Stanton won the competition with a fine five-under-par 65.

He was followed in second place by Van Phillips with a one-under-par 69.

The remainder of the field of 35 local pros found the going a lot tougher with the fast greens and testing rough contributing to an overall stroke average of nearly 78, eight over par.
