SLOUGH and Windsor Railway Society are holding their weekly illustrated talk at 7.30pm today, Friday, May 19. It takes place at the The Manor in Brunel Way, Slough Railway Station. This week’s talk is entitled ‘beginnings of practical subjects in schools’ by John Penfold. Entry is £5 for members £6 for non members, £4 for concessions and under 16s go free.

THE Diverse Steps dance event takes place in the town centre tomorrow, Saturday May 20 from 2pm. Around 150 dancers will be taking part in Town Square and High Street until 4.30pm and a range of groups with different styles will be performing. Come along and take in the atmosphere. The event is hosted by Slough Borough Council.

GIRL/Boy duo Bad Kids perform at the Faraday Social Club in Faraday Road Slough tomorrow, Saturday, May 20 from 9.15 to 11.45pm. They cover a wide range of music. Then on Sunday, May 21 guitarist and vocalist, Bryan Just performs from 9 to 11pm. Entry is £1 for members and £2 for visitors.

A concert for kids and parents takes place at St Mary’s Church in Church Street Slough on Monday, May 29. A Musical Adventure will begin at 11am and is a children’s concert introducing instruments with bite-sized music so the kids can get up and dance. It’s also a chance for adults to socialise. AN Arts Forum Showcase event takes place on Wednesday, May 31 at The Curve in Slough from 6 to 8pm. It is free admission and artists, whether singers, dancers or spoken word, can share their latest work or network with others. There is also advice for those looking to apply for funding.
