A SLOUGH tower block has failed combustibility tests rolled out by the government in the light of the Grenfell disaster.

Nova House in Buckingham Gardens, a private high-rise, is managed by the Ringley Group and residents say they have been sent letters informing them of the failure. Currently the government tests are focusing on cladding containing Aluminium Composite Materials (ACM).

Waseem Rana, 34, a father of two, said he hoped it would not mean residents having to be moved. He said: “I don’t have an option at the moment. It is not easy to move.”

Sreedevi Mithun, 31, a mother of one, said residents had been advised on how to vacate the building correctly following the test result, and that the company had already checked alarms.

The Ringley Group could not be reached for comment.
