ROCK band Marillion are fundraising for Thames Hospice in tribute to a man who was looked after by the Windsor-based palliative and end-of-life care charity.
Best known for top ten hits Kayleigh and Lavender, Marillion have sold more than 15 million records worldwide, and now fans have the chance to win a giant signed poster from their recent tour.
The band said: “As many of you will be aware, The Guardian newspaper gave our latest album F E A R a stunning 5 star review. This was written by Tim Hall, who tragically died from cancer a few weeks ago. As a tribute and thank you to Tim, we are going to send all the money raised to the Hospice that looked after Tim during his final days.”
All readers need to do to be in with a chance of winning is to donate £5 or more at the band’s JustGiving page, and include their full name and email address (only visible to the band). One donation will give that person a ticket for the draw. On July 31, the band will pick a lucky winner at random. The current total stands at more than £2,000.
