Chequers Bridge in Langley will close overnight for three weeks from Monday while Network Rail carries out maintenance works.

The bridge, where Market Lane meets Mansion Lane and Hollow Hill Lane, will be closed from 10pm to 6am - diversions will be in place.

The work being carried out will repair structural damage to the bridge which has become increasingly serious in recent months.

Councillor Fiza Matloob, Slough Borough Council's cabinet member for transport and highways, said: “We understand road users find closures frustrating but we thank them for their patience as Network Rail completes these vital remedial works.

“We have made sure these temporary closures have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption and inconvenience to local residents.”

*Chalvey Road West will also be closed for two to three nights from Saturday while emergency electric works are carried out. Diversions will be in place.
