STEP BACK in time and see what Reading was like in the days of Henry I.

TimeTrap Escape Rooms is bringing an experience like no other to the town's leisure scene.

"Our premises is themed as a time–travelling facility, where people come to get sent back in time to important points throughout history," says Andrew Ingle, who set up the venture with his partner Katie, "Professor Potch is the man behind our time warps and every team that come to our facility get a briefing from him in the form of a video message. Our first time warp (Rebellion - 1136) takes you back to Medieval Britain and the aftermath of the death of King Henry I, believed to be buried in Reading Abbey.

"We really wanted our experiences to have a local connection and celebrate the culture and history of the town, hence taking you back to this point in history."

TimeTrap started at the Reading Fringe Festival last July, with a two–day pop up game in the basement of the Purple Turtle.

Following this success, it opened for six weeks in Great Expectations Hotel and Bar with its second pop up game 'Dickens' Final Chapter’.

"It was after these two events, as well holding a few corporate events that we raised enough money to make the move to a permanent venue, opening in June 2017 and adding something completely different to Reading's leisure activities," says Andrew.

TimeTrap is a great activity for birthdays, parties, business events and team–building.

It's been so popular that the team are now working on opening their second timewarp, which will take visitors back to Victorian times. Then they'll be working on a Second World War concept.

TIMETRAP Reading is offering a group of up to six people the full experience.
