FIRES appear to have stopped at a high-rise tower block after a resident was moved to a different location, The Observer has learned, but a police investigation continues into the alleged crimes.

Slough Borough Council said a resident at Broom House in Reddington Drive, Langley, had been offered ‘alternative accommodation’, which was accepted.

It came after four fires in a bin at the bottom of a trash chute caused smoke to pour back into the building in June and early July. Thames Valley Police had launched a criminal investigation into the fires.

A TVP spokesman said today (Friday): "The investigation is ongoing. There have been no arrests at this stage.

"Anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation should call Detective Constable Natasha Gidda via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101."
