TWELVE people had their cars targeted by a group of vandals this week in just an hour, it has emerged.

In the early hours of Wednesday the twelve vehicles along Norwood Lane and Swallow Street, Iver were damaged. Door handles and wing mirrors were ripped or kicked off the vehicles, allegedly by a gang of youths.

Tom Dunley, 27, a store worker from Iver Heath said that the youths were responsible. He said he woke up at 1.30pm to the sound of ‘a group of six or seven youths screaming and shouting’.

He found that his car wing mirror had been kicked off, and estimated it would cost between £300 and £400 to repair. He further stated this was not the first time his car had been targeted by the vandals.

Mr Dunley said he was forced to sell two classic cars he had in his possession, which included an old Volkswagen Beetle, as repeated vandalism made them too costly to keep.

He said: “I’ve had graffiti scrawled on them, and a windscreen smashed. Once, when I was driving along, one of them shot at me with a gun of some kind.”

Thames Valley Police said in a message distributed to the residents of Iver: “A number of vehicles in your area have been damaged overnight between 1pm to 2pm.

“We are looking to identify witnesses and victims in this matter, as well as gather enough evidence as possible to prosecute those involved.”
