POLICE say they are hunting for two men following reports that shots had been fired in central Slough yesterday afternoon, Friday.

At around 4.10pm officers were called to Stoke Road, not far from Slough Railway Station, after a number of reports that shots had been fired.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said today (Saturday) that they are now searching for two white men, in their late teens to early twenties, following the incident.

One was wearing a dark “Puffa” style camouflage jacket, the other man was wearing a grey hooded top and had ginger hair and a beard.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Stefan McLaughlin, said: “This was a concerning incident on Stoke Road, Slough yesterday but I would like to reiterate that we are not linking this incident to terrorism.

“You will see an ongoing police presence in the area as we continue to investigate.

“We are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to please come forward, we are also asking anyone who might have a dash cam or mobile phone footage to please also get in touch with us."

Armed police had been deployed to the scene and roads around the Railway Station were closed. However train services were not affected, Great Western Railway said.

TVP said on their Twitter account at around 6.20pm on Friday: “We're in Slough after reports of shots fired in Stoke Road area. No injuries and not thought to be terror-related. Investigation is underway.”

People at the scene at the time reacted on social media.

Alex McClure said on Twitter: “Armed police clearing traffic around Slough station.”

Akh Ali added: “Armed police closing half the roads in Slough cos of a shooting.
