A MAN was forced to run and hide after being lured to a car park by would-be robbers who tried to take his mobile phone.

The incident took place in Gillot Court car park, in St Luke’s Road, Maidenhead at about 10pm on Monday, October 2.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, had been contacted on an online selling site by somebody who wished to buy a phone from him.

He arranged to meet the buyer in the car park and when he attended he was met by two men in a black Audi.

One of them offered him a lower price than had been agreed for the phone.

The victim declined and was then threatened by the men, who told him to give them the phone.

He ran away from the scene and hid until the offenders drove away in the direction of the A308.

The driver of the Audi is an Asian man, about 5ft 7ins tall and was wearing a black baseball cap.

The passenger is an Asian man, aged about 25. He has a muscular build and was wearing a black jumper, blue jeans and a black baseball cap.

Case investigator Collette Gray, based at Maidenhead police station, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has any information which could help our investigation.
