A BURGLAR who targeted a 92-year-old's home has been jailed for more than four years.
Paul Gardener, 40, of Blunden Drive, Langley entered the property of the pensioner in Ditton Road, Langley, on May 25. He stole a bag from the elderly man's home before making off in a white van which was later seen by Thames Valley Police officers driving on the wrong side of the road. The van was taken without consent and driven without insurance by Gardener.
Gardener was charged on May 26 and pleaded guilty to all the offences. He was convicted of one count of burglary, dangerous driving, taking a vehicle without consent and driving otherwise in accordance of a licence.
The victim was uninjured.
Gardener was jailed for four years and three months in court on October 10.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Yong Chung of Slough Investigation Hub, said: “This is a really positive result for an offender who targeted a vulnerable member of the community.
“I hope this case promotes a message that we will robustly investigate these kinds of offences and ensure justice is brought to those offending in our area.”
