FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a dog from a stream after it became entangled in brambles.
Two fire engines from Slough Fire Station were called out at 6.30 this morning (Tuesday) after a border collie, named Amber, ran down the embankment of Montem Stream, and became trapped in the water due to brambles.
Firefighters were on the scene for about 15 minutes, as they used cutters and a snare to free Amber and help the dog out of the water.
A spokesman for Slough Fire Station said: "The dog was not in any great distress, it was just stuck. We got Amber back to her owner unharmed.
"The gentleman did the right thing by calling us, and not attempting to rescue the dog himself. It often happens that people jump in the water after pets and end up in trouble themselves."
