The town’s Christmas light switch on date has been confirmed - with the event less than a month away.

An afternoon of fun, fireworks, music and dancing will on offer on Saturday, November 18 in Town Square, High Street, Slough.

It will take place from 1pm to 6pm, Slough Borough Council has confirmed, with the lights themselves being switched on around 5pm.

Those going to the Christmas festivities can be in with a chance of winning lots of prizes, including the star prize of a basket full of goodies. All you have to do is collect a lucky raffle ticket in the Town Square when you arrive and listen out for an announcement at 4.45pm.

The basket winner will also be the lucky person who gets to switch on Slough’s Christmas lights at 5pm, alongside Santa Claus and the Mayor, Cllr Ishrat Shah.

Once the lights are on, the fireworks will go off and even snow is set to tumble through the air .

The singing and dancing acts are yet to be confirmed and the event is completely free.
