A SIKH art gallery, which will be the first of its kind, is to launch at a town Gurdwara this weekend.
The Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara in Slough is hosting the ‘Without Shape Without Form’ exhibition, which is the culmination of paintings by Canadian artist, Kanwar Singh, and a community youth art project run by volunteers at the Gurdwara itself.
The exhibition will be hosted at what is to become the Art of Punjab gallery, and comes after a chance visit by Mr Singh in 2016 where volunteers decided to initiate the youth project.
It takes place on Saturday, from 2pm to 6pm in Bath Road. Admission is free. Additionally Mr Singh will himself give a talk on the paintings from 3pm.
The exhibition depicts different points in Sikh history, including stories of the ten Gurus and revered heroes in the faith.
Youth art workshops will take place from 2.30pm.
