STUDENTS helped run a special Christmas party for older people.

The event was hosted in Burnham Grammar School, Hogfair Lane, on Wednesday, December 13, and saw over 70 older people from a number of care homes attend the school, to be entertained by the students.

In addition to homemade mince pies and crackers, guests watched a performance from the chamber choir, music recitals, and took part in a festive quiz between the tables. The event was run in partership with the Burnham Health Promotion Trust (BHPT).

The manager of BHPT, Shirley Shaw, said: “Burnham Grammar School and BHPT have been running these parties in partnership for several years now and people really look forward to attending.

“This year was very special because we had guests from all the local care homes, and it was lovely to see how well the students and older people got on together.”
