A DRUNK DRIVER blew the highest reading a police officer had ever seen, after he collided with multiple vehicles and a wall.

At 1.10am on January 26, David Parker, 47, was arrested in Grampian Way, Langley, after another driver reported him for driving erratically. A breath test provided a reading of 136mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath – the legal limit for drivers being 35mg.

In a separate incident, Parker was arrested in West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe, on Thursday, February 8, at 3.20, when he collided with two stationary vehicles and a wall. Nobody was injured in the incident. Upon being arrested, a breath test provided a reading of 156mg.

Parker was sentenced for both offences at High Wycombe Magistrates Court on Friday, February 9. He was jailed for 26 weeks, and disqualified from driving for 60 months. He will also need to complete an extended driving test at the end of this period.

PC Alistair Bennett, “Parker’s breath test reading of 156mg was the highest I have ever seen.

"The dangers of drink driving are well documented but Parker ignored them while putting innocent motorists and pedestrians at risk.

"I want to thank the members of the public who initially detained the driver before police attendance and then provided witness accounts that led to this conviction.

"We will continue to deal with drink driving offences robustly and promote ongoing safety."
