PARENTS and teachers will run a marathon to raise money for their schools.
The 30-strong group from Farnham Common Village Schools will run the Reading half-marathon on Sunday, March 18, as part of a campaign launched by the schoool, #fcvsrunforkids. Headteacher Alison Fischer said: “We are delighted to launch our #fcvsrunforkids campaign with such a large amount of parents supporting by running the Reading Half Marathon. “The money raised will provide new equipment and facilities for both the infant and junior schools to benefit almost 400 children.
"I’m also personally looking forward to running with the team to help to make a difference directly.”
Much of the fundraising will come from a range of pre-race events, in addition to an online fundraising page.
Andrew Davies, Governor of the Farnham Common Village Schools, said: “The Reading Half Marathon will be a great challenge, and between us we will be running almost 400 miles.”
At the time of writing, the school has raised £1,365 - 13 per cent of their target.
