A DOMESTIC abuse charity is to lose its funding, as the council moves to appoint a new service provider.
Slough Borough Council’s current provider of domestic abuse services, Domestic Abuse Stops Here (DASH), has been passed over in favour of the London-based charity Hestia.
Hestia has been awarded a three-year contract, which begins on April 1. The charity will also be doing outreach work with Slough’s minority groups to ensure they have easy access to the services, which is to be funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner, Anthony Stansfeld.
Cllr Pavitar K. Mann, cabinet member for regulation said: “We are very pleased to announce our partnership with Hestia. The team has a wealth of experience in delivering domestic abuse services across London.
“They also have a proven track record in meeting the needs of diverse communities and we are keen to tap into this.”
