A GROUP of mothers have organised an event to raise money for a child bereavement charity.

The event, a charity fun day, is to be held at The Rose and Crown, Hollybush Hill, Stoke Poges, from 2pm on May 12. The money will be donated towards Child Bereavement UK (CBUK)

One of the mothers organising the event said: “My daughter was ten and my son three in 2014 when their dad died. My son was extremely affected. CBUK have been amazing, offering one-to-one counselling and introducing him to other children in the same position. It was honestly like a weight had lifted off his shoulders when he realised he was not alone.” Following these goup sessions, some of the mothers had the idea to hold a fundraising event to show their appreciation to CBUK.

Throughout the event, children will be be able meet the Pokemon character Pikachu, enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, a fancy dress competition, a tombola, and an arts and craft ‘creation station.’

Parents will enjoy the live music from the band ‘These Certain People’, stalls selling coffee, tea, and cake, and a blazing barbecue.

The organiser said: “We would love to give something back through raising as much money as we can. The charity helps so many people, not only bereaved children but parents that have lost a child.”
