A CARE HOME is celebrating after being rated ‘Good’ once again by the watchdog.

The family-run Oxford House Nursing Home in Stoke Road, Slough, was praised by the Care Quality Commission for its treatment of staff and residents.

The inspectors said: “People were assisted to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible.”

Inspectors noted how the facility was clean, well-staffed, and residents were kept stimulated with regular activities and events. One resident of the home said: “Staff are regular and very good. Anything we need you just ask and they come.”

The facility has low staff turnover, due to a number of incentives like free meals, social events, and recognition of good practise through an awards system.

The manager of the home, Andrea Abound, said: “At Oxford House Nursing Home we are delighted with our latest CQC report which recognises us once again as good in all categories. Being independent and family owned has enabled us to really care about our residents, whilst building a highly professional and dedicated team.

“Our committed team always pull together, so we never have the need to use agency staff, and this enables us to get to know the individual preferences and enables continuity of care for our residents.”

“We are very proud of the quality service we provide.”
