POLICE are investigating a 'suspicious incident' in which a man tried to encourage a 12-year-old girl to get into his van.
The incident happened on Saturday in Marlborough Road, Slough, just after 2pm. The girl was cycling along the road, with her family some distance behind her.
A man that was unknown to the girl pulled up next to her in a silver transit van, and asked her if she would like a lift home. He opened the door of the van, at which point the girl cycled away. The man then drove off towards Radnor way.
The man was described as white, aged 30 to 40 years old, with gelled short blond hair and a round face. He spoke with a Scottish accent.
Thames Valley Police requested that anyone with any information regarding this incident call them on 101, quoting reference '43180139211'
