SLOUGH has been named as the Thames Valley Town of the Year for its success in business.
The town took the gong at the annual Thames Valley Property awards, run by The Business Magazine, which celebrates the best of business in the area.
The award, which saw Slough beat the likes of Bracknell and Oxford, was handed over last Thursday at the Ascot Racecourse.
Cllr James Swindlehurst, leader of the council, said: “I’m delighted Slough has won this prestigious award.
“Slough is the youngest, most diverse and most productive place in the UK and in October we were named best place to work in the UK by Glassdoor.”
