A HISTORY group had paid tribute to one of its founders, who recently passed away.
The Eton Wick History Group is mourning the loss of Frank Bond, who died on April 23. Mr Bond, alongside the late John Denham, founded the club, which holds regular talks on local history.
The Eton Wick History Group said: “When the Eton Wick History Group was created in November 1992, both founders wondered whether any audience would turn up for the initial evening – they found themselves with an audience of over forty people, and their History Group went from strength to strength over the next 25 years.
“Frank Bond had a wonderful memory and was a mine of information about local matters. He will be sorely missed, but he has left the committee with a number of annotated photograph albums and copious notes to support future talks”
The Eton Wick History Group also announced that its next talk, scheduled for May 30, has had to be postponed, with the new date of the talk to be announced in the near future.
