FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a funeral parlour last night.
Firefighters from Windsor and Slough fire stations were called out to a fire at Lodge Brothers on St Leonard's Road, Windsor, last night (Thursday). Three fire engines attended the scene, the cause of the fire being determined to be faulty electrical wiring under some wooden floorboards.
Firefighters had to cut away the parlour's floor to fully extinguish the the fire. The crews were on scene for about an hour.
Meanwhile, a team from Langley fire station were called out at around 3.45am to a road crash on the M40, between junctions 2 and 1A. Two cars had collided, possibly as a result of the extremely heavy rain.
There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash, but cutting equipment had to be used to free two occupants of one of the vehicles.
Firefighters were on the scene for around 45 minute
