Girls from schools and youth centres across the Royal Borough have attended the first meeting of a new forum designed to let them share their views on important current issues.
The first meeting of the council's new Girls' Policy Forum took place at Maidenhead Town Hall.
A total of 20 girls attended the forum meeting, which has been strongly promoted by Cllr Natasha Airey, the Royal Borough's cabinet member for children's services.
She said: “The council wanted to establish a forum for young women in the borough to have their voices heard in our policy making on the issues that matter to them.
“At the first meeting the girls worked in groups and came up with a list of priorities they wanted to work on in the coming months. “I am really looking forward to the next meeting in a month’s time and taking the forum forward.”
