A RUGBY club has celebrated a successful season with its own beer festival.

Slough Rugby Football Club held its own beer festival on Saturday at their clubhouse in Upton Court Park.

The club was celebrating an excellent season, in which they won the South West Divisional Vase Cup and were promoted from the BBO (Berkshire, Bucks and Oxon) Premiership to the Southern Counties League.

Rhys Amos, 23, of Ferrers Avenue, West Drayton, said: “We’ve had a really successful season, so I wanted to build on that by doing something nice for the local community, and develop the positive vibes around Slough.

“We got a range of brewers from Slough, Bucks, and Staines involved.”

At the event, a bar of locally brewed beers and ciders were on offer, as well as an inflatable assault course.

More than 300 people attended the event over the course of the day.

Mr Amos said: “It was a really good time. We’re trying to bring that family feeling back to Slough.”
