The Pied Piper of Hamelin may be famous for leading children to their doom in the famous fairytale.

But 35-year-old Anton Oltar, who is playing the sinister piper in a locally based open air show later this month, helps children in real life by giving vital tutoring support.

Now he is planning to take part in a 10k run to raise money for the education charity Action Tutoring - on the same day as he appears in the show.

Mr Oltar is a recent recruit to Windsor Theatre Guild and is appearing in their forthcoming open air show Hansel and Gretel's Fairy Tale Adventure as the sinister piper.

He is part of a team running on Sunday, July 15 in aid of Action Tutoring and will have to hurry back from London immediately afterwards to do the show.

The charity helps disadvantaged primary and secondary school students get the education they deserve by providing tutoring support in Maths and English. Mr Oltar personally tutors pupils in year 5 maths as a volunteer.

His fulltime job is as a senior recruiter for IBM Kenexa Recruitment Services.

Mr Oltar, who is married to Russian born artist and designer Anna Kompaniets, is not at all fazed by the thought of rushing back to be the pied piper after a 10k morning run.

He said: "I have to do a bit of capering as the pied piper in the show on Saturday afternoon. But I have done plenty of fund raising runs in the past, so I don't think having done the 10k run in the morning will cause me too much of a problem."
