After thirty years in Windsor’s Peascod Street, family favourite restaurant Francesco’s has new owners, a new menu and new executive chef.

The new owners are JHRG Holdings, who also own the local chain of Jungs cafes in Windsor, Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield, as well as Francesco’s in Marlow and Maidenhead.

In a nod to its Windsor history the Italian pizzeria, ristorante and bar has been renamed da francesco.

JHRG Holdings managing director Richard Mathea said: “I’m delighted that executive chef Marco de Simone and general manager Vincenzo di Monda are now at da francesco in Windsor, both are well known to locals as they were previously at Bray restaurant Caldesi in Campagna.

“We think the Windsor community will love the new da francesco and we look forward to welcoming them.”

The restaurant was officially re-opened with a launch event last week on a hot summer’s evening, which was just as well as it was so well attended that the party spilled out on to the pavement!
