The Celebrity Superhero Triathlon is taking place on Saturday at Dorney Lake in Court Lane.
The event is a sports series set up for people with disabilities and long-term injuries and is fast becoming an annual attraction.
It will see different teams taking on triathlon challenges including a 150m swim, 3k bike or 1k push/rush.
Captains this year include Jonnie Peacock, the sprinter who won gold in the Paralympics of 2012 and 2016.
Also playing a big role will be Professor Greg Whyte OBE, who has teamed up with npower who are backing the whole event.
npower has established a ‘support squad’ - providing and manning dinghies throughout the swim section to give participants confidence and Professor Whyte will be leading the warm-up as well as providing support to those taking part.
Last year 1,700 people applied to take part in the Superhero Triathlon- this year the number was up to 2,000.
