The new Dedworth Sensory Garden was opened on Saturday.
The garden in Fuzzens Walk boasts 200 plants - the result of the combined effort of volunteers, local businesses, the Royal Borough and the Crown Estate.
The site has been rented from the Radian Housing Association after approaches from Cllr Ed Wilson who launched it with the Royal Borough’s deputy mayor Cllr Colin Rayner.
The garden will be open between 10am and 6pm - but visits must be booked.
Cllr Wilson said: "It would be a perfect site to help people with dementia - smells can be very important in bringing back memories, particularly in a garden.
"It would also be ideal for children with learning difficulties.
"We also need volunteers to help with the watering and planting - and hopefully to manage the site."
