A LEADING youth drama group is looking for budding young performers to appear in a full scale production of a Broadway show featuring an entirely teenage cast.

Colnbrook Amateur Stage Theatre's (CAST) Academy youth group is planning to stage the musical '13' next March.

The show which debuted on Broadway 10 years ago follows the fortunes of Evan Goldman, who is plucked from his fast paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents' divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?

The Academy has a limited number of places available for budding young performers aged 10 to 18 years to join them for this top notch show. No audition is required to join, although auditions will follow for those interested in principal roles. The Academy limits intake to 30 to ensure every young performer gets the focus and attention they deserve and their chance to shine.

To kick things off, potential new recruits are invited to attend a ‘taster' session from 6.30pm to 8.30pm this Monday, September 17. The group meets at Colnbrook Village Hall, Vicarage Way, Colnbrook. Rehearsals take place at the same time every Monday evening.

It looks like they are going to have a great few months bringing this fantastic show to life.
