Moped robbers snatched a £25,000 Rolex watch from a 64-year-old man’s wrist in a busy street.

The two masked moped riders threatened the man with a large knife and “forcibly removed” his Rolex Daytona watch, injuring his arm, leg and face.

The victim was “shaken by the attack” in north London and taken to hospital before being discharged later that day, the Metropolitan Police said.

The robbery, which happened just before 8pm on Friday, September 7 in St John’s Wood took place on the High Street which was “busy with traffic and pedestrians”, DC James Drummond of Westminster CID said.

Video shot on a mobile phone that is believed to have captured the suspects has been released by police in an effort to trace them, but “a number of witnesses are believed to have seen the incident and filmed it on their mobile phones”, police said.

DC Drummond added: “This was a horrifying ordeal for a man just out enjoying a summer evening.

“They appear to have singled him out and deliberately targeted him for this watch and we need to catch them before they target anyone else.”

The Metropolitan Police urge anyone with information or footage relating to the incident to call 101 quoting CAD 6669/07SEP18, tweet @MetCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
