A HUGE illegal waste dumping site has been found in Amersham leading to two arrests.

Thames Valley Police received a report from Buckinghamshire Council of fly-tipping at 6pm on April 30.

Police officers said they found a "large, organised, illegal waste dumping site." during their investigation.

As a result, two men were arrested at the scene and have been bailed.

Police said: "The land owner was very pleased with the response from all agencies.

"We will now coordinate with the Environment Agency and Council."

Fly-tipping is defined as the ‘illegal deposit of any waste onto land that does not have a licence to accept it’.

Uncontrolled illegal waste disposal can be hazardous to the public, especially if it contains toxic material or asbestos.

There could be a risk of damage to watercourses and soil quality from the dumped waste.
