Boy, aged eight, in school knife threat

A MUM has taken her eight-year-old son out of a school after he was threatened with a knife by another pupil.

Lisa Ball only found out about the horrifying incident when her son, Graham, refused to go to back to Colnbrook Primary School following a family holiday.

He became ill and later told his mum he had been threatened by a boy at school.

Now Miss Ball has moved her son to another school, fearing for his safety. Miss Ball, of Crown Close, Colnbrook, said: "My son was taken to the doctors because he was physically ill. He would not go to school, he was moping around, he was not himself and he would not eat. He kept breaking out in a rash, the doctor told me everything was breaking out in his skin.

"He was too scared to say anything because he was told if he said anything he would get stabbed. They are not interested at the school. I was told yesterday [Tuesday] they won't actually do anything about it."

Miss Ball claims the headteacher, Janice Brown, was aware of the incident but did not report it to the police.

She said: "The headteacher already knew about it but she did not see fit to tell me about it. At the end of the day somebody has got to get stabbed before anything is done. With knife crime the way it is, it is absolutely disgusting.

"I have been told by the child's parent that they put the knife in his pencil case, it was a present from his grandad. It should not even be in school."

Speaking on behalf of the school this week, Bill Alexander, assistant director of raising achievement for Slough Borough Council, confirmed a knife was found.

He said: "A small penknife was discovered in a pupil's pencil case by a teacher at Colnbrook Primary School. It was removed from the pupil immediately. The matter was dealt with swiftly and appropriately by the school."
