Slough firefighters were called out to deal with two incidents in the town overnight.

Two appliances were required to put out a blaze at a home in Albert Street between 8pm and 10.30pm on Friday evening. Four firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and safely contained the fire to the home's bathroom.

Red Watch from Slough Fire Station were called into action again between 4am and 6.30am this morning (Saturday) when a fire began in a stairwell near three flats in Oban Court.

Two firefighters in breathing aparatus and using one hose reel put out the blaze, although the stairwell sustained heavy fire damage.

David Dodds, Crew Manager at Slough Fire Station, confirmed that nobody was hurt in either incident.
