The wait is over for borough residents eagerly anticipating the launch of the all-star school song which has been making soundwaves throughout the town.
'You've Got Friends' features stellar performances from Westgate School students past and present, alongside Theone Coleman, a rising BBC radio rapper, The Blaxy Girls, one of Romania's biggest rock groups and the Priory School choir.
The single, which was written by Westgate deputy head Colin Moore and Tim Bedford, will be available to download from Monday and students and staff are secretly targeting an audacious bid to break into the UK top 40 music charts.
Mr Moore said: "I would like to thank everyone who has helped make this song such a big success already. It has been a great way to mark our 50th aniversary and I just hope people will get behind it and help us crack the charts."
All sales from the song will be handed out to borough based charities, with money also going to help support youngsters in a poverty stricken Kenyan village.
'You've Got Friends' is available to download from Monday at the napster and itunes websites.
