Was a UFO seen over Slough?
DOZENS of mysterious lights seen flashing over the night sky in Slough have left a woman convinced she saw a UFO.
Reports of the strange sighting have come from Carol Swan who was at home in Britwell on Saturday at 11.40pm when she saw about 20 lights coming from behind a row of houses off Travic Road, Slough.
Mrs Swan, of Goodwin Road, said: 'I have never seen anything as spectacular or moving in my life, and I must admit I felt quite emotional. Truthfully I think it was UFOs, it was absolutely breathtaking."
Mrs Swan was unable to get any photographs of the sighting but she is keen to see if anyone else spotted anything strange in the sky around the same time.
The sighting of the lights last for about five to seven minutes.

Report commentThey're called Chinese lanterns. They really are eiry and beautiful to watch and are currently responsible for a good 90% of UFO sightings.

Report commentI wonder if the other commenter (Hugo) actually KNOWS that these were Chinese lanterns?
There is a possibility that they might have been but since the article doesn't mention the patterns of movements, we can't know, we can only speculate.

Report commentI saw this in Hughendun, High Wycombe in the park. We were debating weather or not it was a satellite but it was way too big and close, and fast but did move like one.

Report commentI saw them from Burnham, about the same time, low in the sky to the north. At firs****hought they were planes coming in on the Taplow beacon route although it was too late, but I could see about six of them, too close together for planes and moving in the opposite direction to the usual aircraft. I then wondered if they were helicopters, as we get quite a few on a similar route, so I got a pair of binoculars but could only pick out a single point of light. There may have been more but my line of sight was obscured by some trees. They drifted away to the east after about 5 minutes or so..... Glad I was not the only one!

Report commentThe Uk is awash with sightings at the moment...i'm in the NW & it's been crazy here, over 20 confirmed sightings in a little over 2 weeks, i've seen them myself & managed to get 3 of them captured on video. 2 are up on YouTube in HD (3rd will be up shortly), search for Duffman790's channel. And enough with the chinese lantern b/s...i've yet to see one that can shoot off from a standing start then stop dead in an instant as one i captured did. They're everywhere these things, just keep looking up on a clear day & i guarantee you'll see something. Also search on Youtube "UFO releases intelligent spheres" & you'll get an idea of what we're dealing with ;)

Report commentSeriously, what's up with Chinese Lanterns flying around the skies in Britain? Seems like they're all over the place these days. Is there a Chinese Lantern craze happening?!
Anyway, people need to wake up and start looking passed their noses when it comes to the UFO issue. They're here. They've been here...and the presence is becoming more apparent. Do your research. There's an abundance of information out there...

I came here because we also have a credit crunch on my planet. We always monitor the Polish news stations, and we reckoned that the place to be is Slough.

Report commentwhile i can't say for certain, the snatch of description given very much implies chinese lanterns to me as well
The lanterns are getting really popular, probably because of the changes in laws about fire-works, but also because they last longer and are much cheaper than most fireworks; and of course because you don't need a licence to sell them
a few weeks ago a friend of mine bought one that's actually shaped like a classic flying saucer,
they can move in quite surprising ways because of how the air moves at those altitudes, often they seem to rush of in one direction, then suddenly stop (as they catch a cross-wind) then go at a different speed in another direction.
this can account for the apparent formation flying as well, if they are each released a few seconds after each other, they seem to trail along, and follow each other.
they're very pretty, and quite annoying for those of us who want to find proof of real extra-terrestrial contact.
as long as gullible people continue to make a huge fuss about every light in the sky, we'll never get any answers from the government and we'll never be able to find the one or two genuine sightings out there.
yes, they're probably here.
they're probably not that impressed though.

Report commentSaturday 18th July 2009 @ 2130- 2200 hrs - travelling towards London from Wilshire, following a day looking at crop circles - orange/red UFO's were seen travelling at speed as we drove along the M4 motorway - spotted soon after we passed the sign "Maidenhead/Slough" There were a handful immediately in front of us near the horizon, which seemed to increase in number rapidly as they headed at speed towars us - my friend counted 12 but some where overhead so there were probably around 15 - 20 - as high as the clouds travelling straight above the M4 motorway. I managed to take one photo - my SLR camera was not set up properly so maybe nothing will come out. When reaching for my camera I turned my head looking towards the top of the car window. One UFO was overhead - it seemed to be darker at the centre pulsating and spinning. They all were flying in formation and when exiting "the motorway" turned to the right and disappeared from view.

Report commentwe live on cecil way in slough, round the corner from the road where the lady has seen the lights. it was at 10. 40 on saturday night 14/11/09 my faimily and i were in our living room watching a film. when i saw two bright orange lights just above houses across the road. they were beaming and circuling eachother. we all went outside and we watched the lights drift away for about 5 - 8 minutes. then the one closest to us disapeared first. this is freaky because my family have been asking around to see if anyone else saw it as we knew we witnessed something unusual and are glad someone else has seen them. next time someone please get a picture to prove its real!!!!!

Report commentWhat i saw was a massive orange oval twinkling blob far away in the sky travelling really slowly with no noise. i watched it for ages but got bored as it was hardly moving, though it did look like it was travelling away.
From reading the comments above it would seem there was a cluster of orange lights close together. I dont think Optical Express did such a good laser job on my eyes!
Also i was out that night but cant remember what time i got home and saw it. Will have to get back to you on time as maybe there was a repeat performance during the early hours?! lol
