A MOTORCYCLIST is in hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a van.

A silver Triumph motorbike collided with a white Vauxhall Movano van at around 7.10am on Friday at the roundabout of Tuns Lane and Cippenham Lane, near the Copthorne hotel.

The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man, was taken to Wexham Park hospital with serious injuries.

PC Nicholas Brown, who is investigating the collision, said: "I would like to hear from anyone that may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision or who witnessed the collision itself."

Anyone with any information can call PC Brown at Taplow Roads Policing base via 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

very simple - dont drive motorbikes - they are dangerous and when u have an accident there is no bodywork to protect you - hopefully now the motorcyclist will come to his senses

Maz by your theory lets not ride bicycles either, 'they are dangerous and when u have an accident there is no bodywork to protect you'.

    What a stupid idea.

You can't just say not to ride them. My husband is a biker and after 2 accidents, I am terrified when he's out on the bike but it's a cheap, greener mode of transport and he adores it. People sadly die in car crashes every day, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't drive. X

"dont drive motorbikes - they are dangerous"?

Don't you mean that motorcyclists are more vulnerable road users? In this case a potentially avoidable collision meant the motorcyclist came off worse. I think many measures are required including regular compulsory re-testing, better hazard awareness training and stricter traffic enforcement.
