VOTERS in Britwell will be going to the polls to choose six new parish councillors.

An election has been called for March 25 after a dozen residents were nominated to fill the vacant seats which were left open following a mass walkout by disgruntled councillors earlier in the year.

The cash-strapped parish, based in Long Furlong Drive, will have to fork out an estimated £4,000 to foot the bill and is encouraging residents to make the expense worthwhile.

Parish clerk Roy Thomas said: "Our funds are tight and we hope that as many people as possible turn up to vote so that the money is not wasted."

The following candidates will be standing:

Bentham, Mary-Ann - Independent

Bentham, Tim - Independent

Booker, Lynne - Independent Britwellian Residents

Coombe, Tina - Independent Britwellian Residents

Faulkner, Sam - Independent Britwellian Residents

Granfield, Pamela - Independent

Isernia, Olly - Independent

Jones, Elaine - Independent

Kehoe, James - Independent Britwellian Residents

Morton, Jeff - Independent Britwellian Residents

Ransted, Susan - Independent Britwellian Residents

Ricketts, Lynne - Independent
