Residents encouraged to buy 'ethical' gifts this Mother's Day

A CHILDREN'S charity is encouraging people to buy ethical 'real gifts' this Mother's Day.

Barnardo's, which has two branches in Slough, is giving residents the chance to buy alternative gift vouchers which will help disadvantaged mothers and their children.

The gift vouchers, ranging from £10 to £25, could provide anything from a kettle to ensure a mum in temporary accommodation can heat up food and provide hot water for her children, to providing a professional sitter for parents caring for a sick or disabled child.

Each gift comes with a personalised Mother's Day card which will be sent to your mother on your behalf, explaining exactly what your gift will mean for a disadvantaged child.

To buy a gift visit www.barnardosrealgifts.org.uk or drop into either of the stores in the High Street or Farnham Road.
