A YOUNG wrestling fan has been picked as one of four winners to go to America to see a live WrestleMania match.
Twenty five pupils from James Elliman School in Slough entered a competition called the WrestleMania Reading Challenge, which was sponsored by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and supported by the National Literacy Trust.
To enter, pupils had to read five books in their free time, then choose their favourite book and write 100 words or less to convince a WWE Superstar to read their book choice.
Subhaan Zahid, a year-six student, was among four people nationally to win a trip to Phoenix, Arizona, with a parent, where he would get two ringside WWE WrestleMania tickets, spending money and other goodies.
Headteacher Paul Dieppe said: "We are very proud of Subhaan and all of our children who entered this competition. We know that regular reading is one of the keys to our children being successful. The better they become at reading the better they become in all subjects."
