Car burnt to ground in arson attack
A CAR was burnt to the ground after vandals who failed to break into the vehicle set it alight and rolled it down the street.
Firefighters were called out to the incident in Maryside, Langley, at midnight on Monday with a Volkswagen Golf on fire.
Two of the crew used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the blaze and were at the scene for an hour.
The incident is being treating as arson.
Mike Jeeves, crew manager for white watch, said: "Someone tried to nick the car and couldn't get it started so decided to set fire to it and push it down the road.
"It was lucky the car hit the curb and stopped there and didn't cause any more damage."
